European Swimming Championships postponed due to Corona

The European Water Sports Federation has announced that it decided to postpone the European Water Sports Championship scheduled in Hungary from 11 to 24 May to August due to fears of the spread of the Coruna virus.
The president of the European Water Sports Federation, Paolo Barrelli, said in a statement on Friday that it is also possible to postpone the tournament until next year if the situation does not improve.
He explained: "At this stage it is difficult if not impossible to plan within a specific time frame."
"So we have agreed with the Hungarian organizers to review the situation in late May or early June so that we can verify the extent to which the dates can be confirmed and considered official," the official added.
On the other hand, Hungarian Sports Minister Tundi Sabo said that the tournament cannot be held under the current circumstances as the fans will not be allowed to be present in large numbers, while athletes will not be able to prepare well for the competition.
And it was decided in principle to postpone the tournament to be held between 17 and 30 August, that is, one week after the conclusion of the 2020 Summer Olympics competitions in Tokyo.
